"I’m Not Going To Hide My Relationship" – Tracee Ellis Ross

Am I the only one a little obsessed with Tracee Ellis Ross? I mean, she makes such a bold statement with those gorgeous big eyes and huge curly hair. She recently shot the cover for Uptown Magazine and spoke on her relationship with Akon’s brother, Bu Thiam. Ellis says:

“I am not going to hide my relationship, but I am not talking about it.

When you do that, you invite other people and their opinions and issues in.

You can’t discover the person on your own.”

Hallelujah! I totally agree.

I love that Ellis-Ross was so candid, open and honest as to why she doesn’t speak on her man. I must say, I don’t blame her. Perhaps this is the problem with relationships today, we let too many people in. I say we learn a lesson from Tracee and learn to keep our lips sealed, enjoy our own relationship, and let people speculate.

Taylor Swift and Kanye West Reunited?

Yes, yes, yes… Taylor Swift and Kanye West has reunited… well.. sort of. Taylor was photo’d rocking pieces from Kanye West’s new clothing line as she shot for Australia’s Harper’s Bazaar. I must say, I am impressed.

I wasn’t too sure about the Giuseppe’s Kanye designed (kind of looked like rolled down socks to me), but I absolutely love the clothing line thus far. Kim Kardashian was spotted wearing her friends creation during Paris Fashion Week.

As we know, 2009 wasn’t such a good year for Kanye West after he ruined Taylor’s acceptance of her Best Female Video award during the MTV Awards. However, it seems as thought the 2 have buried the hatchet and Kanye has even went as far as to say he has wrote a song for Ms. Swift.

Karrine Steffans Publicly Curses Husband on Twitter

If you don’t know who Karrine Steffans is by now, you must now be into pop culture whatsoever. Karrine, aka Superhead, has taken to Twitter to curse who seems to be her unknown husband. Here’s what she had to say:

“You really deserve someone more basic…I’m tired of pretending your mediocracy is okay with me….I’m tired of pretending I don’t miss G650′s….I’m tired of pretending I don’t deserve a fucking BOSS! I’m tired of you driving my car….I’m tired of pretending like you shouldn’t be intimidated by the other men in my life. Is she talking about her ex, Lil Wayne?? hmm? Then, as if this wasn’t enough, Karrine goes in again:

Wow, she’s a mess if ever I’ve seen one. Like I said in my Halle Berry post, make sure you know who you are laying down with. Karrine jumped into a marriage to perhaps feel loved, but clearly she doesn’t want an ordinary life. She likes the idea of it more than the reality of it. BE careful what you wish for!

P.S. Am I the only one who thought she was still with Darius McCrary (child actor from Family Matters)???? LOL She moves quick!

Halle Berry Can’t Keep a Man

Much of the world has seen the many changes that Halle Berry has gone through with men. Her daughter’s father, model Gabriel Aubry, is no different. Although Halle has seemed to have found a new love interest, it has not taken away from the fact that yet another relationship has gone up in flames, and I mean big time. It seems that her baby’s daddy (that’d be Gabe) is threatening to write a tell-all about his relationship with Halle Berry if Ms. Berry doesn’t give him what he wants… translation, money! Of course Halle doesn’t want that to happen so I suppose we’ll have to see how this unfolds.

But this circumstance should teach us a bigger lesson. Does anyone know what that is? Be sure you know who you are lying down with.. you could have a baby with them. Think about that the next time Miss Priss is whispering sweet nothings in your ear. That’s just what they are, “nothings.” Now we know Gabe is in a more ideal situation, suing Halle and all, but what about when you wake up with a baby mama that is nothing more than a one night stand, or worse, a low-life loser? And ladies, what about the guy you thought would give you the world, but instead turned out to be a ladies man without a pot to piss in and a window to throw it out (as my mother would say)!

All I am saying is, think! It could cost you your life, or at least 18 years of it!

I’m Squishing My Best Friend

Watching television is nothing less than a task these days, but a show that has caught every one’s eye is Jersey Shore. I am sure if you watch you have heard the term “squish” used by Snooki, The Situation, J Woww, and all the other Jersey Shore personalities. “Squishing” in Lehman’s terms means having sex. I thought it was funny to see how the cast could so easily coin a term and have a nation of people speaking Jersey slang. And let’s not even mention the infamous fist pump. These kids have talent… or not, but whatever it is, it’s working for them. However, it has little to do with what I am truly writing about, which is “squishing” your best friend. What happens when you have sex with your BFF?

On the show, Snooki and Vinny crossed the line and slept with one another. That turned out to be a mini disaster. For Snooks and Vin, they had to come to grips with one another for the sake of filming, but in real life how do you keep your friendship separate from your love life? Aren’t they one in the same at the point you decide to get a taste of your “friendship,” or in other words, screw? I believe you have now fallen into the all famous “friends with benefits” category, but in the long run, who really benefits? It is a rare case that two friends turned lovers will actually become more than “fu*k buddies,” unless this is discussed beforehand. From what I have seen, one person catches feelings while the other friend carries on with business as usual and that causes friction. The risk of losing a close friend because of temptations; is it really worth it? While I am sure the excitement is pure bliss in the beginning , you are comfortable with one another if nothing else, is the advantages more valuable than the stakes?

I’d like to know what other friends turned lovers have to say about “squishing” their best friend.

Sex and the City Prequel

OMG, you heard me right! A Sex and the City PREQUEL! Talk about being excited!!! Could you be any happier? I know if you are reading this, like me, you cannot wait to see Carrie Bradshaw back on television even if it is in the form of a 16 year old Anna Sophia (the girl that the CW is rumored to cast as Carrie). I have a feeling Blake Lively will be in the running as well, but we’ll see.

The TV show will be titled “The Carrie Diaries.” It will follow Carrie in her early years and give us a little insight into how she became so damn witty, spunky, and fashion forward. Although I am certain the “sex” will not be as steamy as the scenes we couldn’t wait to see on HBO, I am still happy to have Carrie back to give us a piece of her mind. No one can dissect Charlotte’s insecurities quite like her.

On most days I actually think of myself as a heavily tanned Carrie Bradshaw.. LOL. That’s what my friends tell me anyway. Perhaps it is my passion to write like CB, or maybe it is my curly/ wavy hair that reminds us of the beachy blonde strands that adorned Sarah Jessica Parker’s head. Whatever it is, Carrie had my heart and I hope Miss Sophia can grab my attention as SJP did. Don’t you?

Man, I am going to miss Big though!

Kim Kardashian and Nene Leakes are BFF’s?

Am I the only one who thinks this is the “odd pair?” When I first laid eyes on this pic I was like, huh?

The two reality TV stars were spotted at STK in Atlanta. I just cannot imagine what their conversation was like. Anyway, must have been good because they could not stop tweeting about how much fun they were having. I guess it is true what they say, opposites attract.

Is it me or does Nene look too excited to get a paparazzi shot with Kim K? LOL
